The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) can no longer conduct a joint examination of the remains of flight attendant Christine Dacera, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Saturday.

After the blunders in their investigation on the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Debold Sinas appealed to senators to believe that the police are still efficient and transparent in solving crimes in the country.

During a hearing of the Senate justice and human rights committee on Thursday, January 28, Senator Maria Josefa Imelda Marcos questioned the PNP’s annual crime solution reports as she raised the police’s handling of the Dacera’s case.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has asked the Philippine National Police (PNP) for specimen and medical records of deceased flight attendant Christine Dacera, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

He said the complete CCTV footage of the hotel is important to find out what really happened to Christine Dacera.
“We have been given USB but not given the DVR which contains the entire transcript of CCTV during those days Dec 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021,” he said outside the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Reyes, Makati Police only provided them with splices of incidents, saying many footages are missing.
“In other words, they could splice edit so you don’t have a complete record,” Reyes said.
“Sometimes we wonder why they are not divulging everything on the part of the hotel and Makati police,” he added.

Tomorrow is 27. We will be submitting all available evidence. Sana lang ma-appreciate ng fiscal for finally filing the information against the suspects. Pero kung wala naman, definitely the case will be dismissed, National Capital Region Police Office chief Major General Vicente Danao Jr. told reporters on Tuesday. Danao refused to provide details as to the strongest evidence they are holding against those allegedly involved in the death of Dacera.
