Thane civic body cancels COVID-19 vaccination for age group of 18 to 44 years

Amid rising COVID-19 cases in the district, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Wednesday cancelled the vaccination for the 18 to 44 age group.
Taking to Twitter, the civic body said: Vaccination for the age group 18 to 44 has been cancelled in Thane Municipal Corporation area on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, as per the notification received from the state government.

Mucormycosis threat in Maharashtra: Two COVID patients die of fungal infection in Thane, six hospitalised
A 38-year-old patient from Mharal in Thane rural and another one from Dombivli town died of the fungal infection while undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 care centres.

THANE: Two COVID-19 patients have died due to mucormycosis, a serious but rare fungal infection, in Maharashtra s Thane district, a health official said on Wednesday.
Besides, six other patients are currently undergoing treatment for the disease, also known as black fungus, the official said.

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], May 12 (ANI): The vaccination drive was suspended at some centres of Nagpur on Wednesday due to the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines.
According to the locals, who came for getting vaccinated had to face inconvenience as they were told to come the next day. I came here to take my second dose but due to unavailability of vaccine they told me to come tomorrow, a local said.
The senior citizens were seen roaming for the second dose of vaccination as there are only three vaccination centres operating in the city for vaccinating people above 45.

A 38-year-old patient from Mharal in Thane rural and another one from Dombivli town died of the fungal infection while undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 care centres in Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) limits, the civic body s health officer Dr Ashwini Patil said. Six other patients were undergoing treatment for mucormycosis and two of them were admitted in the ICUs, she said.
