The residents have been using bottled water for everything from having a bath to bathroom requirements, as well as for drinking purposes. Repeated attempts to convey their issues to the administration have yielded no results. Meanwhile, the administration says that major pipe work has delayed the water supply.

There has been no positive response from the dean on the matter, the doctors have said.

Maharashtra: Pune Hospital s Resident Doctors On Strike Over Medical Staff Shortage

Pune district is among the most affected districts in Maharashtra for COVID-19. (Representational) Pune: Resident doctors of Pune s Sassoon General Hospital went on strike today over shortage of manpower at the hospital to treat the growing number of patients. The emergency services will continue during the protest. Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors had written a letter to the hospital administration demanding an increase in the number of health staff to treat patients. The administration however did not respond to any of the demands raised by doctors after which the association has decided to stop non-essential and non-emergency-related services. The hospital administration has not yet reacted to the situation.
