Mumbai, Feb 4 : Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Nana F. Patole resigned from his post here on Thursday evening. He submitted his resignation to Deputy Speaker Narhari S. Zhirwal, after a tenure of nearly 14 months in the august post.
The development comes ahead of the 57-year old Patole s likely appointment as the new President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, according to party sources.

Mumbai: Maharashtra will not implement the Centre’s three contentious farm laws, Assembly Speaker Nana Patole said on Tuesday as he addressed a rally organised at Mumbai s Azad Maidan to express solidarity with the farmers agitating near Delhi.
A large number of farmers from several districts of Maharashtra, mostly from Nashik, have gathered in the state capital for the past two days for a rally in support of farmers protesting against the farm laws at Delhi borders.
