Due to a spurt in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the Budget session has been curtailed. The Budget session will be held from March 1 to 10 instead of four weeks. The Budget will be presented on March 8 by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will address both the houses of the state legislature on the first day of Budget session on March 1. The supplementary demands will be tabled on the same day.

The court wants the government’s fresh decision to be placed before it on February 23, 2021.
A bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Girish Kulkarni’s direction followed after it took note that the Covid-19 situation in the State is under control and wondered why GBM’s cannot be held physically.
“The pandemic in this State is well under control. Activities in almost all spheres have opened up. The secretariat is working in full swing. The courts have opened up providing access to justice for all. The local bodies are also performing their statutory duties, said the bench in its order.

Mumbai: Armaan Jain, the grandson of late actor Raj Kapoor who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged money laundering case on Thursday, did not appear before the agency.
Jain is the cousin of Bollywood actors Karisma, Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor. He is due to make his debut with
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil.
As per reports, the ED summoned the debutant in a matter related to the Tops Grup money laundering case. The actor s name came up when the ED was probing a case filed against Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik. Sarnaik, 56, represents the Ovala-Maijwada constituency of Thane in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and is also a spokesperson for his party.

The development comes ahead of the 57-year old Patole s likely appointment as the new President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, according to party sources.
