Police Cracks Down on Desi Porn Boom During the Pandemic and Lockdown

Comments The coronavirus pandemic of 2020 not only saw a boom in COVID-19 cases, its also saw a boom in an industry which otherwise is considered “forbidden” in India. After a recent crackdown on OTT platforms that showcase pornographic content in the name of ‘erotica’, Mumbai Police has now revealed that there are over 150 such platforms operating in Maharashtra. Mumbai Police claims to have closed down over 15 such applications. The police says these applications were inspired by an app called ‘HotShots’ which was reportedly previously owned by actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra. His former manager Umesh Kamat has also been arrested by the Crime Branch in the case.

Shelar to write to Center about reinvestigation of cyber-attack causing power outage

Updated Mar 02, 2021 | 13:50 IST On 1st March, the Maharashtra Cyber Crime Department submitted its report regarding a power outage and possible cyber-attack on MSEB servers in Maharashtra. Ashish Shelar  Former Minister & BJP leader Ashish Shelar will be writing the letter to the Center over the October 2020 Power Outage issue and Investigation done by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell. Shelar Slammed the state government over the report submitted by Cyber Cell. Shelar termed this Report of Cyber Cell as influenced by New York Times News Report which also talks about possible cyber-attack on Power server in Maharashtra which could have led the power outage in Mumbai and MMR region.
