Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow all people above 18 years of age to get vaccinated against Covid-19, in the wake of an alarming rise in cases of the viral infection.
Earlier this week, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also requested Modi to allow people above 25 years to receive Covid-19 shots.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had also appealed to the Centre to open the vaccination for all aged above 18 years. Now, when the Covid-19 infection is increasing, we always think that the younger generation of our young country should be prepared to manage the future challenges like they always did, Baghel said in a tweet in Hindi.

New Delhi [India], April 8 (ANI): With 1,26,789 new cases in the last 24 hours, India s active caseload reached 9,10,319 on Thursday.
India reported 59,258 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 1,18,51,393. The national Recovery Rate is 91.67 per cent.
Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Kerala and Punjab have shown a rise in the COVID daily new cases. 84.21 per cent of the new cases are reported from these 10 states.
Maharashtra reported 56,286 new COVID-19 cases, 36,130 recoveries, and 376 deaths in the last 24 hours, the state health department informed on Thursday.

New Delhi [India], April 8 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petitions filed by the Maharashtra government and its former home minister Anil Deshmukh challenging the Bombay High Court order directing a preliminary enquiry by the CBI into the allegations of corruption and misconduct levelled against him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Hemant Gupta dismissing the plea and said, We are not inclined to interfere in this (Bombay High Court) order.
