Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 1 (ANI): Expressing his disinterest in imposing the lockdown in the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said, I do not want to impose it but majboori (helplessness) is also something. I do not want to impose lockdown in the state but majboori is also something, the Chief Minister said during a press conference in Mumbai.
Thackeray also urged people of the state to wear masks to avoid lockdown.
However, the Chief Minister assured that he is continuously monitoring the situation.
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 28 (ANI): In view of the spike in COVID-19 cases in Pune, the Pune district administration on Sunday extended the night curfew and shutdown of schools till March 14.
The essential services are exempted from the curfew. Maharashtra reported 8,623 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. In Pune, the total number of coronavirus cases stands at 4,06,453, total recoveries at 3,87,527. Pune has 9,860 active COVID-19 cases till Saturday and has also witnessed 9,235 deaths.
