Electrifying! Tesla scouting charging sites in Mumbai

Mumbai: Tesla, Inc, an American electric vehicle and clean energy company based in Palo Alto, California, is scouting sites for opening a facility in Mumbai, initially for the sale of electric cars which will be imported here. Its officials have so far completed three rounds of talks with the Maharashtra Government and explained their strategy.

Chipi airport starts operations this month

The newly developed airport will boost tourism in
Sindhudurg district, which Maharashtra govt wants to develop as an alternative destination to Goa.
The newly built airport at Chipi will get operational later this month, possibly on the Republic Day.
The airport will give a fillip to tourism in the coastal district of Sindhudurg, which Maharashtra wants to develop as an alternative destination to Goa. At present, most tourists travel to Sindhudurg and nearby places by road or through Konkan Railway.
The airport is being developed by
Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), which had awarded a contract to IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited for building and operating the airport.

Pune: A male sambar seeking shelter at a factory in Chakan, Pune, on Tuesday was rescued by officials of the forest department on Tuesday. The sambar was rescued from GE India located at Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
After spotting the sambar, the employees of the factory alerted the officials of the forest department. The forest department called the Wildlife SOS and RESQ Charitable Trust for help in rescuing the male sambar.
