MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government on Monday postponed the state board exams of Classes 10 and 12, which were scheduled to be held later this month, in view of a steep rise in
COVID-19 cases in the state.
The board exams of Class 12 were to begin from April 23 and of Class 10 from April 30. Given the current COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we ve postponed state board exams for class 10th & 12th. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority, state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted.

Varsha Gaikwad on Monday announced that the offline state board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 have now been postponed to June and May-end respectively.
Amid the alarming rise of coronavirus cases in the state, students and parents had been demanding that exams be cancelled or held online for this academic year, keeping in mind the risk of students getting infected. Given the current COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we’ve postponed state board exams for Class 10 and 12. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority, Gaikwad tweeted.
Maharashtra HSC, SSC Exams 2021 has been postponed to May and June respectively. The revised Maharashtra HSC, SSC Exams 2021 dates will be announced accordingly. Varsha Gaikwad confirms the same.

The decision regarding the conduct of Maharashtra Board Exams 2021 is to be announced soon as per the recent tweets from the state education minister, Varsha Gaikwad. As the exam dates are nearing, it has become a primary concern as students need to be addressed urgently. On April 10, 2021, Arvind Sawant, Member of Parliament from South Bombay, wrote to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal seeking guidance from the centre on the conduct of Class 10 and 12 exams.
