The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has issued guidelines for functioning of the conciliation forum that aims to resolve issues between homebuyers and real estate developers.

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority(MahaRERA) has dismissed Kohinoor developers contention that homebuyers - Priyanka Vij and Vandana Vij - seeking interest on payment made over delay in possession of flat in the project Kohinoor City residential Phase II, at Kurla (West) is non-maintainable since they have repurchased it and no sale deed has been signed between both.
MahaRERA Member-II BD Kapadnis, however, in the order cited that when the complainants repurchased the flat from original allottee -Shabina Faruq Ahmed Shaikh, it granted sale and transfer of flat. Therefore, the complainants stand in the shoes of the original allottee.

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA), Mumbai has bestowed big relief to two homebuyers of same family by entitling them compensation through interest payment on their invested amount over delayed possession of their booked apartment in a luxury project Alta Monte and Signet at Malad.
The regulatory authority, however, also justified that since the project is nearing for completion and paying interest at this juncture may affect project completion. Thus, liberty has been granted to builders to adjust the interest amount along with the outstanding dues payable by the homebuyer to prevent any jeopardy.
