On Tuesday, Ali Abbas Zafar released a fresh statement saying the team has decided to implement changes in 'Tandav' web-series in order to address the raising concerns.

UP govt says Tandav to face tough legal action for hurting religious sentiments
Amazon Prime s web series Tandav has kicked up a major storm with many raising objections to the controversial representation of Hindu deities in the series. On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh government has said that the makers of web series Tandav will face tough legal action.Â
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the makers and artists have hurt the sentiments of Hindu. Tandav is a political show streaming on Amazon Prime. The producer, director, and artistes of web series Tandav have committed the crime of spoiling social harmony and unity and hurting Hindu religious sentiments. Tough legal action will be taken, he tweeted in Hindi.

The web show starring Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub quickly triggered outrage over scenes that allegedly disrespect Lord Shiva.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 20 (ANI): In the wake of the controversy over the release of web series Tandav , Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday said that the central government should bring in legislation in regard to over-the-top (OTT) platforms. We have received a complaint regarding web series Tandav . Action will be taken as per the law. Earlier on Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that the state government will register a case against Amazon Prime India s web series Tandav .

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has filed an FIR against the actors and makers of web series
Tandav. Actor Saif Ali Khan, who has played a lead role in the series has also been named in the FIR. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and certain Hindu groups had objected to some scenes in the film and alleged that Hindu sentiments were hurt due to the same.
The BJP leaders had been going to various police stations in Mumbai alleging why when UP Police had filed a complaint against the makers of the series, was the Mumbai police reluctant to file a case.
