Group of Canadian Politicians Calls for End of COVID-19 Lockdowns

Disregarding provincial health orders, some B.C. churches seem willing to risk sanctions and fines in order to hold in-person services on Easter Sunday.
A number of B.C. churches have signed on to the “We Will Gather” initiative of Liberty Coalition Canada. The website lists churches across the country that plan to hold in-person services on Sunday in defiance of local COVID-19 health restrictions.

One of the churches, Langley’s Riverside Calvary Chapel, has already been fined by the RCMP for offering in-person services after they were prohibited last November.

Conservative MP David Sweet Joins Calls to End Lockdowns
Conservative MP David Sweet the first federal elected official from his party has joined Ontario MPP Roman Baber in calling for an end to COVID-19 lockdowns and moving the province back to the “Green” zone.
“Lockdowns are harmful to the physical and psychological well being of Ontarians,” Sweet said at a press conference on Wednesday. “We should focus on protecting the vulnerable in long-term care homes and congregate living settings.”
Ontario has seen numerous outbreaks of COVID-19 in its long-term care homes that claimed the lives of many residents there. To date, the province has reported 3,756 resident deaths in long-term care homes.
