Watch: “The People’s Liberation Army Air Force(PLAAF) planes were put under continued radar surveillance and were instructed to contact controllers in the Kota Kinabalu FIR, the Malaysian Air Force said. The jets were scrambled after the Malaysian Air Force detected the Chinese planes over its radar at Sarawak on Tuesday morning.  When these instructions were not heeded and the PLAAF planes crossed Kota Kinabalu FIR and headed towards the national airspace, the Malaysia Air Force scrambled intercepting jets at 1.33pm to perform a visual identification,” it added.

Wisma Putra to summon Chinese envoy, issue diplomatic note of protest over airspace intrusion

PETALING JAYA: Wisma Putra has summoned the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing for an explanation after 16 Chinese military aircraft were detected near Malaysian airspace on Monday (May 31). Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said Wisma Putra will also issue a diplomatic note of protest over the incident. “Based on the report by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), the ministry will issue a diplomatic note of protest against the intrusion to the Government of the People’s Republic of China. “The ministry will also summon the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia to provide an explanation regarding this breach of the Malaysian airspace and sovereignty by the 16 People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) aircraft,” he said in a statement Tuesday (June 1).

2 Chinese war planes enter Taiwan air-defence zone ANI 24 May 2021, 18:03 GMT+10 Taipei [Taiwan], May 24 (ANI): Taiwan has said that two Chinese military aircraft entered its air defence identification zone (ADIZ) on Sunday, marking the 15th such intrusion this month. This comes as tensions in the Taiwan Strait are escalating. According to Taiwan Defence Ministry, a People s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Shaanxi Y-8 electronic warfare plane and Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare aircraft flew into the southwest corner of the ADIZ. In response, Taiwan sent aircraft, broadcast radio warnings, and deployed air defence missile systems to track the two planes. The new incursion comes after the United States and South Korea agreed to cooperate on the Taiwan Strait issue, amid rising tensions in the 180-km wide waterways.
