Krishna Rao was hacked to death at the Eguva Vakapalli church and his killers left a note near his body stating that the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) had killed him. Tension prevailed in the village, following the incident. According to sources, a group of over 30 Maoists entered the village, picked up Krishna Rao, before hacking him to death. In the letter, the Maoists alleged that the deceased’s brother Rama Rao, the president of Vana Samrakshna Samiti, had been creating problems for the villagers. The letter said that Krishna Rao too had maintained ties with cops after armed outpost (AOP) at Nurmati was constructed.
