FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) - McLeod Health is the latest area hospital to receive its initial doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Nurses administered the first of two doses to three physicians on Tuesday. Theyâll receive the second dose in three weeks.
One of the physicians was Dr. Jeremy Robertson, McLeod Healthâs chief medical officer and emergency medicine physician.
Robertson said he believes the vaccine is highly effective and will provide more protection in the ongoing fight against the coronavirus.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Many across the Grand Strand and the Pee Dee want to know when itâs their turn to receive a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
This comes after the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control confirmed a limited supply of Pfizerâs vaccine will be distributed to 56 sites throughout the state by the end of the week.
