Online application for DU entrance test begins March 8

first year admission test of Dhaka University (DU) under 2020-21 academic
sessions will begin on March 8.
The online application process will begin from 4:00pm on the day and will
continue till 12:00am on March 31, said a DU press release.
The decisions were finalised at a meeting of DU admission committee held at
the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building today, with University Vice
chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
Pro-VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Mohammad
Samad, chairman of various departments, directors of various institutes,
acting registrars, and proctors were present at the meeting, among others.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the Dhaka University authorities to put more emphasis on research and build skilled human resources for the country.
Dhaka University can play a pioneering role in building skilled human resources to keep pace with the world, she said. I urge the teachers and researchers to do more research on how Bangladesh can march forward. No achievement is possible without research, she said, addressing an international conference titled Celebrating the 100 Years of the University of Dhaka: Reflections from the Alumni International and National .
DU will lead towards attain quality education: Dipu Moni

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today said Dhaka University will have to play the leading role to elevate the country’s quality of education to the highest level.
“In terms of ensuring quality of education and research, we are yet to meet our expected level in global ranking. Dhaka University will have to take the responsibility to elevate the quality of learning and research to the highest level”, said Dipu Moni.
She made the remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the centenary conference of DU titled ‘Celebrating the 100 Years of the University of Dhaka: Reflections from the Alumni – International and National’ at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus.
She hoped that the vaccine that Bangladesh procured from India will arrive within January 25-26.
The PM informed that they have already planned how they will proceed with the vaccine. We ve taken all the steps to face the Covid-19 situation in the country, she said.
Education Minister Dipu Moni addressed the opening ceremony as a special gust while prominent economist Rehman Sobhan presented the keynote speech, held at the university s Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
DU Pro-VC (Academic) ASM Maksud Kamal gave the vote of thanks while Pro-VC (Administration) Mohammad Samad read out the citation on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
PM thanks Modi for gifting 2m doses of COVID-19 vaccine

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today extended her heartiest greetings to her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for giving Bangladesh two million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine as a gift.
“You know the Coronavirus vaccine that India provided us as a gift has already arrived. I thank the Indian Prime Minister for that reason. The vaccines which we have bought will arrive by January 25 to 26,” she said.
The Prime Minister was addressing as the chief guest virtually in the inaugural session of the historic international e-conference titled “Celebrating the 100 Years of the University of Dhaka: Reflections from the Alumni-International and National” from her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.
