According to court records, Darien Klindworth-Woods requested on Jan. 15 to execute a stayed 46-month prison sentence. He is being held at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center without right to bail pending his move to state prison. He will receive credit for 374 days already served.

Crews arrived on the scene shortly after 1 p.m. at Dean’s Northtown Auto at 1513. N. Riverfront Drive in Mankato. Much of the building collapsed as crews worked to battle the blaze behind Northtown Auto’s main building. Employees were able to get out of the building after a gas tank caught fire and explosions could be heard coming from the building.

(KEYC) - Mankato Public Safety says it has seen success in stressing education rather than enforcement, and it plans to continue that method when bars and restaurants are allowed to reopen Monday. Public Safety says it is always open to answering questions from local bars and restaurants about COVID-19 restrictions to ensure everyone is on the same page. “It’s not about enforcement. It’s not about tickets. We haven’t been doing that. We haven’t had to do that. If we are finding places that need a bit of help or they are having some difficulties we are really going to work with those staff. Overall we have really good compliance and an industry that’s looking forward to being back open again,” says Matt DuRose, Mankato Department of Public Safety.

Associate Director of Public Safety Jeff Bengtson was among the first to schedule an appointment to be vaccinated. Bengtson responds to calls where residents need assistance or are in emergency situations.
