Dinesh Kumar has been accused of harassing his wife for dowry and making an attempt to murder her. Bengaluru Police have registered a case against him. His wife, Deepthi K.P. (28), filed a complaint against Mr. Kumar in Bengaluru’s Rajarajeshwari Nagar Police Station on Saturday. The police have registered her complaint under Sections 498 A and 307 of the Indian Penal Code and under Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

MCC council approves proposal to build multi-purpose complex at Jeppu

It has proposed to house its existing health centre and veterinary clinic in this complex. In addition, the complex will have a provision for offices, including the ward office of the corporation, commercial shops, and a bus stand. The corporation has proposed to get the project done under the Smart City Mission by Mangaluru Smart City Ltd. (MSCL). The council of the corporation approved the proposal when it met on Thursday.

State govt sanctions land at Thokkottu for Beary Bhavan

File   It has sanctioned ₹ 6 crore for the building and of this amount, it has released ₹ 3 crore The State government has sanctioned 0.25 acre land to Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy to construct a Beary Bhavan at Thokkottu. The foundation stone for the building will be laid soon, according to chairman of the academy Rahim Uchil. The government has sanctioned ₹ 6 crore for building the bhavan. Of this amount, ₹ 3 crore has been released. Earlier, the academy had purchased 0.25 acres from Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) for building the Beary Bhavan at Baiturli village near Neerumarga.

Udupi district administration gears up for second phase of gram panchayat polls | Mangaluru News

Representative image UDUPI: The district administration is gearing up for the second phase of gram panchayat polls in Udupi district that will be held on December 27. Elections will be held for 86 gram panchayats in three taluks –- Kaup, Karkala and Kundapur including 16 GPs in Kaup, 27 in Karkala and 43 in Kundapur. The exact number of candidates in fray will be known on December 19 when the last date for withdrawal of nominations ends for the second phase. The 86 gram panchayats encompass 448 wards with provision to elect 1243 gram panchayat members. With December 16 the last date for filing of nominations and December 19 the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the second phase, Dr Naveen Bhat Y, CEO of Udupi zilla panchayat said finer aspects of the democratic process will be known soon thereafter. “Elections are likely for all the above mentioned wards,” Dr Bhat said.
