1945 - Lieutenant Rakhymzhan Koshkarbayev and Red Army soldier Grigoriy Bulatov are the first to raise the Soviet flag over the Reichstag building. On May 7, 2007, the Institute of War History of Russia officially confirmed that Lieutenant of the 150th Rifle Regiment of the 3rd Assault Army of the 1st Belorussian Front Rakhymzhan Koshkarbayev hoisted the flag over the Reichstag on April 30, 1945. Historian Bulat Assanov handed over the document certifying this fact to the Central Museum.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 19-20, the 5th international scientific conference on ‘Cultural Heritage of the Mongolian People: Manuscript and Archival Collections being kept in Ulaanbaatar and Saint Petersburg’ took place in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts at the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of History and Ethnology at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and the International Association for Mongolian Studies jointly organized the conference on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Scientific Committee, and the 110th anniversary of Mongolia’s restoration of national freedom and independence.

/MONTSAME/ The 1st international
virtual scientific conference themed ‘Mongolian heritage in the world: Archival documents and records’ will be held
by the General Archival Authority of Mongolia on April 29-30 in Ulaanbaatar
city.
Mongolists and researchers
from nine countries including Japan, England, China, Russia, the Republic of
Korea and Mongolia will attend the conference which will be jointly organized
by the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the International Association for
Mongol Studies.
The attendees will provide
presentations on the interesting facts related to Mongolian history, which are
being preserved at archives, museums, and libraries of their own countries.
Overview
The availability of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) and other space-based systems is creating an unprecedented opportunity, bringing benefits in the areas of emergency management, marine and land monitoring or fleet control to name a few.
