Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 1, Oyu Tolgoi LLC and Rio Tinto in partnership with the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) launched a joint project to build and develop the capability of geotechnical and mining professionals in Mongolia.
Rio Tinto Mongolia and Oyu Tolgoi LLC will provide US$2.75 million in funding for the project, which will run until the end of 2025.
The initiative was officially launched today with a cooperation agreement signed by Kh.Amarjargal, Country Director, of Rio Tinto Mongolia, Armando Torres, Chief Executive Officer of Oyu Tolgoi LLC and B. Ochirbat, President of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.

and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Cuba Sh.Battsetseg had a
meeting with Rector of University of Havana (UH) Miriam Nicado to discuss at
length the progress of plans agreed at their previous meeting. They finalized
their plan on running a summer course in economics, law, history, and biology for
15 to 20 Mongolian teachers and students at UH from June to July, 2021 and had
discussions in detail about the draft agreement on the assignment of a UH Spanish
teacher at the National University of Mongolia as well as the master’s programs

/MONTSAME/ A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today by six state-owned
universities namely the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, National
University of Mongolia, Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Mongolian
State University of Education, Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts
and Mongolian University of Life Sciences.
The document
was approved at the Cabinet meeting dated on March 3. With collaboration of these six
state-owned universities, duplication of curriculum will be removed. n
