: Saturday, May 22, 2021, 6:50 PM IST Five bodies wash ashore at Alibaug, Daman; Mumbai Police suspects could be of the crew onboard Barge P-305 PTI Photo Four more bodies were found after they washed ashore the coast of Alibaug in Raigad district, while one was found in Daman which Mumbai police suspects could be of the crew onboard Barge P-305 that capsized during Cyclone Tauk Te. But it has to be ascertained if the bodies belonged to those onboard P-305, said Mumbai police officials. On late Friday night and Saturday four more were found in Alibaug area of Raigad and one has been found in Daman. We suspect that these bodies could be of those who had met with the mishap involving barge P-305. Efforts are on to identify those bodies.,â said senior police inspector Suhas Hemade of Yellow Gate police station.

Stranded workers from a barge, which had gone adrift amidst heavy rain and strong winds due to Cyclone Tauktae, being airlifted by naval personnel on an Indian Navy Seaking helicopter (AFP) NEW DELHI: ONGC s barge P-305, that sank in the Arabian Sea due to cyclone Tauktae, has ben located on the seabed. Navy s ship INS Makar was able to locate the barge today using advanced side scan radars. The barge sank after breaking loose of its anchors and hitting an oil platform in rough seas after the cyclone struck. Of the 261 people on bard P-305, 66 are now confirmed dead while 9 are missing. 43 of the dead have been identified. 41 bodies have been handed over to the families. The police also sent 30 samples for DNA testing to identify some of the bodies.
