Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday unveiled nominations for the PCB Awards 2020, the results of which will be announced on their digital platforms on Friday.
“The short-lists for 12 categories, including ten individual categories, have been finalised by an independent panel comprising highly respected and distinguished cricket personalities,” PCB said in a release.
“In short-listing the nominees, the independent jury did not limit itself to just player performances, but also took into account various other factors, such as the opponent, impact, value and contribution of the players in the matches and/or during the period under consideration,” it added.

DUBAI: India captain Virat Kohli topped two men’s categories and Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry swept the women’s honours in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) ‘Awards of the Decade’ announced on Monday.
Kohli was declared the best male player of the decade, as well as the top ODI player. Prolific Australia batsman Steve Smith bagged the Test award to deny Kohli a clean sweep.
Perry, 30, was adjudged the best woman player as well as the premier ODI and Twenty20 player.
“It’s a great honour for me to receive this award,” Kohli, who returned from India’s ongoing tour of Australia to attend the birth of his first child, said in a video.

Virat Kohli, who had scored 20,396 runs in all international cricket during the time period, which is more than anyone else, was also part of team India that won the ICC CWC 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013. He was also named ICC Cricketer of the Year in both 2017 and 2018, so it was no surprise that he emerged as the clear jury favorite with winning the Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade.
