Bell County will soon be serving as one of 28 COVID-19 vaccination hubs in Texas. The Department of State Health Services has allocated 3,900 doses to the Bell County Public
Texas health officials on Sunday released a list of coronavirus vaccination hubs that will receive the state s next shipment of vaccines.
The 28 hubs will get 158,825 doses of the vaccine this week, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Another 38,300 doses will go to other providers across the state.
The number of doses that each provider is getting is based on its own estimate of how many people it could vaccinate in a week, DSHS said.
The hubs are meant to streamline large-scale vaccination as Texas continues to prioritize vaccinating people who are health care workers, 65 and older with underlying medical conditions.

Itâs been nearly a month since vaccines were first distributed in Bell County. While Bell County Public Health District officials say their staff have yet to receive any shipments, healthcare workers at local hospitals are making some headway.
âWeâve been primarily focusing all of our vaccine efforts to our staff. It has been going very well. We are a little more than halfway through,â said AdventHealth Central Texas PR & Marketing Manager Erin Riley.
Riley says theyâve mainly distributed the Moderna vaccine at their hospital. With hospitalizations and cases on the rise at their facility, just like everywhere else in Bell County, she says the vaccine will help slow the spread.
