Fire hits residential area in Binondo, Manila

(photo from Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office) According to a report, the fire at San Nicolas Street corner Asuncion Street was first reported at 8:05 p.m. It reached the second alarm at 8:11 p.m. and escalated to the third alarm at 8:24 p.m. Firefighters declared the blaze under control at 9:03 p.m. It was put out at 9:19 p.m. Investigation showed that two units were affected in the fire. Investigators estimated the damage at P300,000. Around ffive families were affected. No injuries or casualties were reported. Arson probers are now looking into the cause of the fire.    

Manila LGU identifies 18 COVID-19 vaccination sites

3 devotees fainted during Black Nazarene feast -Manila DRRMO

Published January 9, 2021 1:59pm At least three devotees fainted during the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Manila on Saturday, according to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, MDRRMO Director Arnel Angeles said one incident involved a woman who had just finished her nine-day novena. After the novena, the woman became dizzy and her blood pressure shot up along Carlos Palanca Street. The victim was given medical attention at the Manila Doctors Hospital. No other details were available about the two other fainting incidents as of posting time. Ambulances and medics were on stand-by in case of untoward incidents, Angeles said.
