A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s
Guardian outlines the plan to make the change on High Ongar Road, which is currently designated national speed limit. Representations on the proposal are currently being sought, but if the plan is approved the 30mph limit will be introduced on the length of High Ongar Road, in the parishes of High Ongar/Ongar. The new limit would be introduced from its western junction with the Chelmsford Road (A414), northwards, eastwards and southwards for the entire length to its eastern junction with the Chelmsford Road, including all side roads. Meanwhile, an order came into force on March 4 for the phased temporary closure of various sections of roads in Epping Forest.

An order comes into effect from tomorrow for the closure of Pretoria Avenue E17, between its junctions with Lime Street and Essex Close, due to the installation of multiple utility connections.
