Puducherry: Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Tuesday left for Delhi, accompanied by a three member delegation, to meet the President to seek recall of Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, for allegedly impeding the implementation of various decisions of the elected government here.
The CM was accompanied by Welfare Minister M Kandasamy, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao and a lone member from Puducherry in Lok Sabha V Vaithilingam, sources said. Chief Minister of Puducherry V Narayanasamy on Friday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the territorial Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi of trying to dismantle the separate status of Puducherry and merge it with neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister said, The Prime Minister and the Lieutenant Governor, along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), have been slowly depriving Puducherry government of its powers and impeding several welfare and developmental schemes proposed by the elected government.
Addressing participants of the day-long fast to press for the demand to recall Bedi, Narayanasasmy said there was indeed a threat of merging Puducherry with Tamil Nadu.

Responding to former Minister A. Namassivayam’s decision to quit the Congress party, Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Tuesday said people would decide the fate of politicians who play “opportunistic politics and change the colour of their party flag often”.
“We have seen the fate of persons who played opportunistic politics and changed the colour of party flags for personal gains. The people will decide their fate,” he said participating in a signature campaign launched by the Secular Democratic Alliance, seeking the recall of Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi, at Anna Thidal.

To a question on remarks by DMK youth wing secretary Udayanidhi Stalin that winnable seats should not be allotted to alliance partners, Alagiri said it would be decided by DMK president M K Stalin.
