WINDSOR TERRACE The Diocese of Albany, and 13 other petitioners, including Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear their case opposing New York’s abortion coverage mandate.
At issue is the New York Department of Financial Services’ order that requires employers to cover abortions in their employee health insurance plans.

BOARDMAN Helen F. Sinchak, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Hospice House.
Helen was born June 13, 1935, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Ann Pesta Klanica.
As a child, she unknowingly met the love of her life, Del. They grew up together and then became high school sweethearts at Woodrow Wilson High School, from where they graduated in 1953. They married May 18, 1957 and enjoyed 64 wonderful years together.
Helen had several jobs over the years. She started her career as an operator with Ohio Bell before working for many years at Dusi Music, a family-owned business. She finished her career at RL Lipton Distribution before retiring.

An Iowa City religious group will host free vaccination clinics for rural immigrant communities starting this week.
Iowa City Catholic Worker will open the free clinics in Muscatine, West Liberty and Columbus Junction. All of which have large percentages of Black and brown populations. The group will also arrange for at-home doctor visits.
In a press statement, the group said the clinics will help increase access and distribution of the Covid vaccine in marginalized communities.
