To see Alabama A&M senior quarterback Aqeel Glass drop back in the pocket and throw a pass to his receiver on the money, is to see one of the top signal callers in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
His spectacular performance against Jackson State last Saturday is his latest example. Glass completed 27-of-40 passes for 440 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions in AAMUâs 52-43 win over Jackson State. Glass has been quite impressive on the national stage as the field general of the Bulldogsâ high-scoring offense.Â
He will be one of the players to watch on Saturday, April 17, when Alabama A&M (3-0 overall, 2-0 SWAC) faces Alabama State (3-2 overall, 3-1 SWAC) in the Magic City Classic at Legion Field. The kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
‘Classic in Pink’ Affair Honors Breast Cancer Survivors
It’s April, and we are saying it’s Magic City Classic week. Odd, but it is true. The Magic City Classic is Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Legion Field. As always, the event plays host to various events throughout Central Alabama. I love the spirit and festivities of Classic week.
There is a great event that will honor African American Women who have survived breast cancer. It is the Annual Classic in Pink Affair hosted by Representative Juandalynn Givan. It will be an outdoor event following all COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. It’s Friday, April 16, 2021, at 11:00 am in front of the Sheraton Hotel at 2101 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd North in Birmingham.
