Hexham’s MP has launched a new charity challenge to mark the tenth anniversary of his diagnosis of a brain tumour. Guy Opperman collapsed in the House of Common in April 2011 - less than a year after becoming MP for the town - and was later diagnosed with a brain tumour that had to be removed in emergency surgery at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. However, 10 years later and now thankfully fully recovered, Guy has created a challenge running from March 8 - April 26 encouraging people in the area to set their own 10 for 10 tasks to help raise money for charity.
