Shafqat Mahmood chairs meeting on institutional reforms

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture Shafqat Mahmood presided over the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms (CCIR).
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem, SAPM on Petroleum Nadeem Babar, Adviser to PM on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr. Ishrat Hussain.
The Cabinet Committee has approved the merger of National Housing Authority into Naya Pakistan Housing Auhority under Cabinet Division. For final approval the summary is sent to the federal cabinet.
To make the working of the government expeditious and unconstrained, the committee also discussed and deliberated the amendments in certain rules of Rules of Business in the meeting.
Cabinet panel approves proposals for separate cadre of professionals
ISLAMABAD:
The Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms has approved a set of proposals, including the proposal for renaming the existing Central Superior Services (CSS) as the Central Services of Pakistan (CSP).
The cabinet committee has also approved several recommendations of the Task Force on Institutional Reforms, including a separate cadre of professionals such as engineers, doctors and foreign postings, and criteria for placement and promotions of officers in the future.
The ministerial panel also formed a subcommittee headed by the deputy chairman of the Planning Commission (PC) and comprising secretaries of establishment, law and finance divisions to suggest an implementation plan for formulation of separate cadres and framing service rules.

Enforcement of PFM Act 2019 will address ministries’ issues: Shafqat
Islamabad, December 31, 2020 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture Shafqat Mahmood has said with the enforcement of Public Finance Management Act 2019, many financial issues of the respective ministries will be addressed.
Presiding over the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms in Islamabad on Thursday, he said the enforcement will increase efficiency and good governance of the ministries.
Shafqat Mahmood directed the finance division to complete the consultative process and constitute the Internal Audit Policy Board as early as possible.
