(WWSB) - Manatee County officials announced Monday that they would be distributing 4,500 more COVID-19 vaccinations. Manatee County 311 callers will begin randomly selecting names from Manatee County’s Vaccination Standby Pool to book 4,500 appointments for seniors to be vaccinated at Bennett Park on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Approximately 600 doses are being reserved for healthcare workers who can enroll in a similar vaccination standby pool for patient-facing healthcare workers only at vax.mymanatee.org/frontline.

(WWSB) - An hour after more appointments were made available, the government announced that its appointments were all booked once again. During a press conference, the Department of Health in Manatee County and Manatee County Public Safety officials announced that vaccinations will be available for anyone ages 65 and older starting Wednesday, December 30. Now, all the spots have been taken. On Friday, the vaccine drive-thru will move to Bennett Park, 400 Cypress Creek Boulevard, Bradenton, from Friday, Jan. 1 through Monday, Jan. 4.
