Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has indicated she is ploughing ahead with plans to quarantine overseas arrivals at regional mining camps despite Prime Minister Scott Morrison s reservations and concerns from regional mayors.

An autistic girl with food aversions became severely distressed in mandatory hotel quarantine before the Queensland Human Rights Commission intervened.
The case was among several complaints made to the QHRC and successfully resolved in 2019-20.

The three-year-old girl and five adults in her family were placed in mandatory quarantine in Queensland after returning from New Zealand, however the environment was unsuitable for the child, who has severe food aversions that could not be catered for in quarantine.
