Owerri attack, plot to destabilize South-East, says HURIWA

Owerri attack, plot to destabilize South-East, says HURIWA On By Dirisu Yakubu Famous rights advocacy group, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, yesterday linked Monday’s attack on a correctional facility and Police Command in Owerri as a plot to destabilize the South-East geo-political zone. This is even as the group queried the methodology deployed by outgoing Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu in arriving at the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as the mastermind of the violent attacks. According to HURIWA, the speed with which the police “investigated and unmasked” perpetrators of the heinous acts, “lacks forensic evidence,” and should as a result, be taken with a pinch of salt.

Nigerian govt has plans to destroy Igbo land, plots another genocide in Southeast - HURIWA

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has said that it suspects that agents of deep State may be involved in the recent attacks in the South East and South-South regions of the country. HURIWA said that what a decent and thinking government should have done is to investigate the attacks using the best global practices, adding that failure to do this could mean that there were already plots in Abuja to cause maximum chaos in the usually peaceful South East of Nigeria just to destroy the economy of the same people deprived of government jobs. According to the rights group, this systematically points to the possible involvement of the DEEP State, calling on the United Nations and the European Union to investigate this.
