Mendocino County has hired an interim Public Health Director. Mary Alice Willeford will start her new post officially on Sunday and will be reporting to the Mendocino County Health and Human Services Assistant Director, Dr. Jenine Miller. Willeford is currently the fiscal manager for the agency’s public health department and has been a county employee for 19 years. In the meantime, the county will conduct an evaluation of the health and human services agency and then decide whether to keep the Public Health Director as a permanent position and who to hire for the position.
