Nearly 7 million more doses of vaccine on way

The next shipments of both Rockland-based Pfizer and Moderna s vaccines are on the way.
Officials with Operation Warp Speed say they ve allocated approximately 2 million more doses of the Pfizer vaccine as well as 5.9 million doses of the Moderna vaccine, which will be sent to more than 3,500 sites.
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar is also reminding the public that there are two antibody treatments available to help prevent those with severe symptoms from requiring hospital care. We have allocated over 400,000 treatment courses to all states and territories with 250,000 plus courses delivered and many states have told us that they still have a lot of product available.

As a result, otherwise normal occurrences, like indoor playdates and trips to the grocery store, aren’t a regular part of the Chicago boy’s life right now, his mother said.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, received his initial dose of a coronavirus vaccine Tuesday morning.
Fauci was among a group of federal government health officials and health care workers who were vaccinated. He was joined by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, and front-line workers from the NIH.
