We Will Vaccinate Biden Publicly if He Asks, Says Trump s Health Secretary FOLLOW US ON: Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Monday that if President-elect Joe Biden wants the newly released Covid-19 vaccine, the agency will ensure that he receives it. Of course, we would, Azar said when asked by CNN s Jake Tapper whether the department would vaccinate Biden if he asked for it. Any of those types of efforts that signal to the American people the importance of getting vaccinated and that we, as leaders, are willing to sort of, as you say, put our money where our mouth is, Azar continued, adding that we would be very supportive of that and make sure that that would happen.

The Covid-19 vaccine rollout continues across the U.S. Tuesday. The first shots of Pfizer s two-dose vaccine, administered to health care workers, were met with applause and relief Monday. While the rollout is an encouraging new chapter in the country s fight against the coronavirus, it ll still be a few months until the general public can line up at a doctor s office or a neighborhood drugstore to get the shot. Health experts caution social distancing and masks are key to preventing viral spread in the meantime.
