The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has acted to ban the selling of mint-flavored cigarettes, dealing a big blow to the tobacco industry. The prohibition has been actively advocated for by public health and civil rights organizations, noting the excessive risks of menthol cigarettes to black Americans.
Menthol, flavored cigarettes ban sparkes debate
Critics of the ban argued that the prohibition would lead to illegal sales and further confrontations with law enforcement. More than a third of cigarette sales in the United States will be affected by the new restriction.

Democrats think black people are too stupid to get photo IDs and now they think they have to make decisions for them. They’ve decided, based partly on pleas from African-American organizations like the NAACP, that menthol cigarettes must be banned because 85.8% of black smokers use them.
But Pot’s okay? They want them to go on to Pot or non-menthol cigarettes apparently.
Don’t worry, however, illegal menthols will not be banned. That’s not satire, read on.
This is way too authoritarian. Leave people alone.
Banning the sale of menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars this year is the single most important step the federal agency has taken reduce the deadly impact of tobacco use in the U.S., particularly on Black Americans.

Fake milestones are important to some people, especially when one has to keep up the image of productivity.
If this weren’t the case, then perhaps we wouldn’t be hearing about the latest bit of tomfoolery to come out of the federal government. President Biden has reached the 100 day milestone of his first term and to mark the occasion, his government is going after menthol cigarettes.
