A Pittsfield man is behind bars on charges alleging that he purchased 15 pounds of marijuana in the mail.
Brandon J. Fox, 29, 4735 Davey Hill Rd., was charged by Warren County Drug Task Force investigators on Jan. 13.
Investigators report in the affidavit of probable cause that the postmaster in Pittsfield received an anonymous tip from a female that Fox had received a large amount of “drugs” in the mail.
The postmaster learned that a package had been delivered to Fox the day prior and subsequently contacted the U.S. Postal Inspector in Pittsburgh.
The postal inspectors on Jan. 7 “interdicted a package” addressed to Fix from “Scheels Sporting Goods in Nevada,” per the affidavit. “It was confirmed that this package was not shipped by Scheels and does not meet their shipping standards.”
