A Dog s Journey: Family reunited with pet after three years
The Russells had given up hope that their dog Rocky was coming home. Three years later, they were reunited. Author: Matt Lively Updated: 10:40 PM CST February 23, 2021
We all know that gut-punch feeling when a pet goes missing. The Russell family has felt it for nearly three years.
Their dog Rocky went out into the yard wandering with the other family dog in April of 2018. When it got dark out, Rocky didn t return.
“They had wandered around the property before, so we weren’t too terribly concerned, Eileen Russell said. It got dark and he didn’t come back but my other dog did. We put posters all over the neighborhood, rode around on my ATV, rode around in the car, looking, looking everywhere for him.”

In a twist of fate, a Central Texas woman was reunited with her lost dog after three years thanks to a Facebook post and a collaboration of local animal welfare groups.
The Humane Society of Central Texas said when the thin frail 15 year old dog arrived at the Waco Animal Shelter as a stray, he didnât have the strength to stand.
A Good Samaritan found him on the side of the road, and brought him in, knowing he needed more help than she could provide, the Humane Society said.
By an "unbelievable twist of fate," Rocky's mom, Eileen, saw his picture after the Humane Society of Central Texas posted his picture on their Facebook page.
