Property worth ₹12 lakh recovered from accused, say police
The police cracked the gold jewellery workshop robbery case, that took place at Kurupam Market in the Old Town area February 2, by arresting six persons, including three receivers, on Tuesday.
Police have found that the accused had also committed two more thefts in One Town area during the same period. Police have recovered all the stolen property worth over ₹12 lakh, including 570 grams of gold, from the accused in the three cases.
The arrested were identified as Pheer Zaelha Sayeed Navazis Hussain (28), a TV mechanic, Chalapaka Lakshman (30), a goldsmith, (both from One Town area) and S. Sagar (25), a painter and resident of Town Kotha Road. Three receivers in the case P. Satyanarayana (30), Gowri Pattapu Nanaji (60), both from One Town area, and L. Srinu of Kancharapalem were also nabbed.

Counselling will be given to those addicted to drugs and indulging in anti-social activities: Police Commissioner
The city police has extended its recently launched programme ‘Marpu’ to the youth who are getting addicted to drugs and other activities such as bike racing. It is basically going to be a counselling centre.
Initially, the programme was started to give a chance to rowdies, who are listed at various police station, to reform.

Ahead of Panchayat elections, a 24/7 Control room has been set up by Visakhapatnam City Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) under the directions of Police Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha. The SEB officials said that people can send their complaints and even pass information by phone/SMS/ WhatsApp to a dedicated number 9440904317 during the panchayat elections in the city, about any illegal activity regarding liquor, ID arrack, sand, gaming and NDPS activities. Immediate action will be taken on the information received and the details of those who have provided the information will be kept confidential, the officials said.
According to the instructions of Commissioner, Special Enforcement Bureau, Vineet Brijlal, an action plan in has been formulated by Additional DCP (SEB) V. Ajitha and Assistant Commissioner SEB M. Bhaskar Rao. The instructions have been conveyed to all the SEB personnel in the city during the coordination meeting.

Two girls, who had gone missing at various beaches in the city due to heavy crowd, were traced and handed over to their parents here on Sunday.
In one incident, a six-year-old girl Rishitha from Marripalem, who had gone missing at Ramakrishna Beach was traced by a young woman Aruna from the city. The woman had not only brought the missing girl to the police at Beach Control Room, but also waited with the girl for about an hour at the outpost, until her parents arrived and the girl was handed over.
