MCCC supports Museum Millage
Museums are not only repositories of historical artifacts but also places of significant knowledge that shed light on our history as it shapes the present and the future. That is precisely what the Monroe County Museum System does here in Monroe. As many of us are aware, the county of Monroe is replete with significant history and the museum is where that is stored. The Monroe County Museum System is a treasure trove of artifacts, manuscripts and information that can certainly benefit all of us as we continue to forge the future together. Their goals of expanded educational initiatives tie in well with the initiatives of our own Monroe County Community College as we collaborate to educate, edify, and enlighten an entire community that very much needs this.

I have a few questions for you: Where in Monroe County can you go if you want to attend college? Where can you go if you are 25 years old or over and don’t have a college degree and want to attend college for free? Where can you go if you need PPE during this pandemic? Where can you go if want to celebrate diversity and hear about diverse peoples and cultures? Where can you go for healing conversations about race? Where can you go if need to be educated, edified and illuminated about diverse cultures? Where can you go if you need to be vaccinated? Where can you go if you need first class entertainment (pre-COVID)? Yes, there is only one place in Monroe that provides all of that – OUR community college, Monroe County Community College.
