BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WPTA21) - A 20-year-old Indiana University Student has died after police said he fell from a balcony last Friday.
On April 2 around 5:40 a.m., police responded to Urban Station Apartments on reports of a man who fell from a fourth-floor balcony.
First responders found a man laying on the sidewalk with serious injuries.
Two women who were with the man at the time told police he had been at their apartment standing on their balcony.
One of the women told officers she was standing on the balcony talking with the man when he fell over the railing.
Medics took him to a local hospital where he later died.

Man who caught couple burglarizing his house charged in deadly shooting, cops say

A Monroe County man who opened fire on a couple burglarizing his house is now facing a homicide charge in the incident that left a man dead and a woman wounded, police said.
Randy Halterman, of the 2000 block of Paradise Trail in Stroud Township, was charged Wednesday with homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
The 66-year-old Halterman was sent to Monroe County Prison without bail. An attorney has not yet entered an appearance for him in the case.
Stroud Area Regional police said they were called at about 5:27 p.m. Tuesday to Halterman’s home for a report of shots fired in the residence.
