Upon investigation, the suspect was determined to be a 37-year-old man from Gaylord who has ties to the Monroe County area. “It was discovered that the suspect was upset due to a pending Friend of the Court hearing,” the report said.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the threats; and officers in that county found the man at his home. He was arrested and taken to the Otsego County Jail. His identity is being withheld pending formal arraignment.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
Police investigate ‘attempted homicide’ at motel near Michigan-Ohio border

BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI Police are investigating what they’re calling an attempted homicide in Monroe County.
A staff member at the Happy Day Motel in Bedford Township found two people a 32-year-old woman and 30-year-old man, both from Toledo unresponsive in one of the rooms around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Monroe County deputies learned both victims were assaulted the night prior at the Bedford Inn Motel – less than a mile away. Bedford Inn Motel, located on S. Telegraph Road, is less than a half-mile north of the Michigan-Ohio border.
