A New York City prison guard is now facing charges after allegedly watching an inmate hang himself and then issuing orders preventing staff from saving him, insisting that he was fine and just playing, prosecutors say.
Rebecca Hillman, 38, has been charged with felony counts, including criminally negligent homicide, following the death of inmate Ryan Wilson at the Manhattan Detention Complex on Nov. 22, 2020, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. As alleged in the indictment, the death of Ryan Wilson wasn’t just a tragedy – it was a crime, Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr., said in a statement. Our investigation shows that Capt. Hillman ordered her subordinates not to take potentially life-saving measures to help Mr. Wilson, and failed to call for medical assistance expediently.

The 2015 deposition hadn t previously been reported, according to the Daily News.
Allen Weisselberg, former President Donald Trump s longtime financial guru, said he maintains distance from the legal side of the family business finances, according to reports. That s not my thing, Weisselberg said in a 2015 deposition over Trump University, which was unearthed by the New York Daily News for a Sunday cover story.
Weisselberg, CFO of The Trump Organization, has served the Trump family since the 1973. During Trump s time in office, Weisselberg was the only person outside the family to oversee his trust.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office will no longer prosecute cases against sex workers, while criminal cases against sex traffickers, pimps and those who pay for the service will continue.
The shift in policy is part of a growing movement across the U.S. to reform the way sex-for-money is policed.
