What happened: The board approved changes recommended by the township Parks and Recreation Board for swimming attire policy and enforcement at municipal pools. No street or workout clothes and no shoes, except for water use, may be worn in pools, but the policy allows for other apparel worn for medical reasons with a pool managerâs approval. Those who violate the policy will receive a card with the rules and may stay at the pool but may not go in the water.

U.S. News & World Report has released its annual rankings of every public high school in the nation.
The rankings rated more than 17,800 public high schools on how well they served students on factors such as college readiness, reading and math performance, graduation rates and assistance for underserved students.
Manheim Township School District is raising money for a scholarship honoring Alexandra Chitwood, a middle school counselor who died of COVID-19 last year, by holding a 5K on Motherâs Day weekend, May 8 and 9.
All proceeds from the Alexandra Chitwood Memorial 5K will fund the Alexandra Chitwood Memorial Scholarship, which was created as a way to remember the educatorâs legacy and continue her work of helping students strive for success.
Due to COVID-19, participants are asked to complete the race at one of three routes. One starts at the tennis courts at Manheim Township High School, another starts at Manheim Township Public Library, and the third starts at the Weaver Fields parking lot at 2883 Weaver Road. Thereâs also the option of creating your own 5K course.
Three schools in the Manheim Township School District will close temporarily due to an uptick in COVID-19 cases, school district spokeswoman Marcie Brody said Monday.
Manheim Township High School and Landis Run Intermediate School will shift to remote instruction Tuesday and Wednesday, and Nitrauer Elementary School will shift online Tuesday only, Brody said.
The moves came after each school met its case threshold determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to close a school building for cleaning.
According to COVID-19 data published daily on the school district s website, the high school has four active and two probable cases, the intermediate school has five active and one probable case, and Nitrauer has one active and one probable case.
