Mass has been suspended since April 2020 due to COVID-19.
It will be held each Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 12:15 p.m. in the chapel on the second floor of the hospital. Seating will be limited and those attending Mass must follow Mayo Clinic safety protocols, including wearing a mask and practicing physical distancing. If a visitor does not have a mask, Mayo will provide one.
“While the chapel doors have always been open for prayer and meditation during the pandemic,” says Father Honoré Kombo, Priest Chaplain at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, “we are delighted to celebrate Mass once again with those seeking the healing grace of the Eucharistic and willing to participate to live Mass.”

The Minnesota Department of Health says the number of people getting their COVID-19 vaccines has gone down dramatically in recent weeks. At the same time, they’re noticing an increase in new cases.
Some physicians at Mayo Clinic are worried about what’s to come if more people don’t get the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We will continue to see variants, we will continue to see hospitalizations and deaths and interruptions in the way we would like to all live our lives until we have control over this virus, which will only happen through large, widespread vaccinations,” said Dr. Gregory Poland, director of Mayo Clinic’s vaccine research group.
