Fortunately, she ignored the advice. Hart, who was always curious about brain disorders, is among a tiny group of Black women psychiatrists. An adjunct assistant professor at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and Science, she is also the first and only Black woman to be elected to the Minnesota Medical Association s board of trustees.
