MANTORVILLE A 68-year-old woman died in an early morning fire Thursday, Feb. 4, in an apartment building here that brought out four area fire departments to fight it. Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose identified the woman as Cynthia Ferguson. Her cause of death was unknown as of Thursday afternoon.
According to Rose, the call came in at 6:37 a.m., and deputies were on the scene two minutes later at the Chestnut apartment building in the 500 block of Chestnut Street in Mantorville.

A man suffered burns Tuesday morning after a boat at a northwest Rochester storage facility caught fire.
Members of the Rochester Fire Department were called just before 10 a.m. to Rochester Storage, 926 37th Ave. NW, for a report of a vehicle fire. A boat in the parking lot of the facility had caught fire. A man, whose identity was not released, suffered burns in the fire.
The fire department said in its news release that the man had crawled out of the boat. He was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys.
A 34-year-old Rochester woman was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys following the crash Wednesday evening.

A Rochester woman suffered non-life threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon after the SUV she was riding in lost control and struck a tree.
The Minnesota State Patrol as well as Elgin Fire and Ambulance responded to a crash about 5:45 p.m. on Minnesota Highway 247/Olmsted County Road 11 in Farmington Township.
A 2011 GMC Acadia was westbound when it lost control on the snowy and icy road and went into a ditch and struck a tree, according to the State Patrol crash report.
The 31-year-old man was struck around 7:40 p.m. Friday in Northwest Rochester.

A 31-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle late last week was listed in stable condition Sunday night, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Officers were called about 7:40 p.m. Friday to the 1800 block of 19th Street Northwest for a report of a person who had been struck by a vehicle.
The 31-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys.
The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old from Mantorville, and his passenger, a 22 year-old woman from Rochester, were uninjured in the crash.
