WASHINGTON Eight of Washington s hospitals are among the best in the nation, according to a new ranking by Newsweek.
The magazine s World s Best Hospitals list for 2021 ranked the top hospitals around the world, including in the United States. It s the third year Newsweek has published the list, for which it partnered with the data firm Statista.
Five Washington hospitals ranked among the top 200 in the U.S., while another three hospitals were included in the overall list but did not rank among the top 200.
As the oldest civil rights organization in Southwest Washington, the Vancouver chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has investigated countless complaints and instances of racial discrimination over the years.

After weeks of smaller COVID-19 vaccine allocations from the state, thousands of vaccine doses are on their way to Clark County to make up for disparities that have existed in the state’s initial rollout.
A data analysis provided to The Columbian Tuesday night made the disparity public and has since put pressure on Gov. Jay Inslee and the state Department of Health to make up for it.

New court records filed earlier this week in the Jenoah Donald shooting investigation show miscellaneous tools, including a screwdriver, wire cutters and a spring-assisted knife, were seized as evidence from the front seat area of his car.
After almost five hours on hold, my call to the COVID-19 vaccine hotline was answered. No available appointments of course, but the nice lady who answered offered to put me and my wife on the Clark County waiting list.
